Taj Mahal main dome mud-pack therapy

by | Apr 20, 2017 | News, Travel

India’s iconic Taj Mahal monument is to be given a mud-pack to remove yellow pollution stains, archaeologists say.

From April 2017, for the first time in the history of Taj Mahal, mud-pack therapy will be done on its main dome to remove yellowness from the white marble.

According to Archaeological Survey of India officials, this process will take more than a year to complete. Iron scaffolding will be tied all around the dome for this purpose.

While this activity will give a new sheen to the monument, it will be a big letdown for tourists who like to get their pictures with the monument in the background.
