“Joji and his ATI (team) did an outstanding job of scheduling a wide range of interests and priorities, making sure that all arrangements were met – not once were we kept waiting, checking on progress and our well-being and when Cyclone Bulbul hit the Sundarbans …”
A Note from ATI
David organised this tour on recommendation from his brother & sister-in-law Peter & Jane Rendall, who went on our Spirit of Rajasthan tour earlier. David and Megan were joined on this tour by their dear friends, Fletchers, Ensors & Jenny Joyce.
On a 29 Day private custom-designed tour, they travelled to Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Agra, Chambal, Lucknow, Kolkata, Kochi, Munnar, and Alappuzha (Overnight Houseboat cruise). Check out the Route Map.
Communication, tour planning & management by Joji
Joji – the man – worked with all our team – improved our draft itinerary, and ensured all we had a diverse mix of events, places, sights and tastes to experience – outstanding.
Joji’s team in India
The ATI agents – all were friendly and courteous, made sure we were well settled and met our travel schedules in good time – no hiccups.
The Guides – all were well-informed, open and good companions.
The Drivers – our two main drivers ( Delhi to Lucknow – 16 days and Kerala – 8 days) were the highlights – our friends and watchers – they made sure we travelled safely and enjoyed the wonderful range of sights, and they shared views of Indian family life and knew a lot about the areas we travelled in.
We really enjoyed the ‘ATI Oasis’s’ – clean, comfortable, and friendly.
Highlights: Chambal, Jaipur, Kolkata and Kochi
The rural village experience near Jodhpur was well worthwhile, but I would suggest doing the Jodhpur tour on arrival so we could have spent the whole day in and around the village and avoided an extra trip into “town. There they could do better with the walks and also the accommodation was short of power points and the bathroom could be tidied up – understand about the need for authenticity BUT !!
Did you ever feel unsafe in India?
No – the people were friendly, and our ATI team keep a careful eye on us all.
Do you recommend India as a destination?
India is so many things
- challenging contrasts of poverty and wealth,
- serious pollution and natural splendour,
- India’s past, the colonial era and modern India
- Food, glorious Food
- Birds and birds – a twitchers delight
- Massive crowded cities and extensive tracts of small farming systems – wheat, rice, duck farming, vegetables of exotic type
Do you recommend ATI Travel?
Yes – Joji and his ATI (team) did an outstanding job of scheduling a wide range of interests and priorities, making sure that all arrangements were met – not once were we kept waiting, checking on progress and our well-being and when Cyclone Bulbul hit the Sundarbans making sure we were safe and had alternate accommodation and activities.
